Association of Interior Specialists
![]() |
Newbury Interiors, a member of the Association of Interiors Specialists (AIS) since 1995, is one of its first contractor members to pass 'ongoing vetting' (OGV), assuring their clients that they will continue to receive the excellent level of service and standard of workmanship demanded from members of the AIS.
OGV is a continuous vetting process of AIS members to raise, maintain and ensure continuity of standards. Contractor members are vetted every three years, when they undergo an on-site assessment, plus a detailed documentary review.
AIS vision of quality and excellences
The Association of Interior Specialists represents over 400 companies involved in all aspects of commercial interior fit-outs and refurbishments and provides specifiers with a single source of quality interior specialists. Its vision is to be the pre-eminent interiors association, recognised in its business for the quality and excellence of its membership.
Prestigious membership
Membership of the AIS is not automatic. All applicants are subject to a strict vetting procedure on application, and are re-assessed every three years to ensure that they continue to meet the high standards the AIS demands.
Once accepted companies must also agree to abide by its code of conduct which covers business practices, workmanship, and ensures that they are aware of and adhere to relevant standards, regulations and practices.
Support for Specifiers
On top of their commitment to provide a membership of quality interior specialists to work with, the AIS also provides support for specifiers through the provision of guides, training and factfile information to further help them achieve the highest quality results they require on their projects.
Reassurance through assessment
Chris Chamberlain, Managing Director of Newbury Interiors comments on the value of AIS membership, "It is very important for our organisation to be a member of the AIS. They are committed to raising standards in our industry and passing this assessment underlines our reputation for quality workmanship and service.
Our clients will gain peace of mind from the fact that we can demonstrate our ability through ongoing assessment by the AIS and have AIS support if needed. We benefit from advice and information that the AIS provides and also have an opportunity to interface with other trade organisations to promote best practice."
AIS chief executive Simon Forrester said, "Ongoing vetting allows specifiers to see the clear benefit in using trade association members along the whole supply chain. Specifiers know that it's not just about price - to ensure quality and delivery they need to use reliable, quality companies such as Newbury Interiors. AIS members are committed to providing high quality solutions for the interiors market."
