Background

Established in 2002, the Chiltern Medical Clinic is a specialised provider of cosmetic treatments. In late 2006, with the lease on its original premises due to expire, the Clinic selected a period building in Goring, Oxfordshire as its new home.

Extensive interior work was required in the new building. Having reviewed a number of interior specialists, Clinic Manager Michelle Gilvarry appointed Newbury Commercial Interiors, impressed with their reputation and their 'can-do' attitude towards the various challenges of the project.

Scope of works

• Build open plan office space
• Refine and develop design concepts provided by Chiltern Medical Clinic
• Advise on selection of materials and finishes
• Install partitions, wall linings and window boards
• Install suspended ceiling solutions and lighting systems
• Install carpet tiles and vinyl and tiled flooring
• Design and create reception area
• Design and fit out kitchen
• Install cabling and associated hardware for data and telephone networks
• Install mains electricity cabling and sockets
• Decorate throughout

Critical issues

With the lease on the previous building due to expire, it was of paramount importance that the Clinic be able to move into the new building by 4th December 2006. The work was completed on time, and the Clinic moved in as planned.
