Background
Craft-ED is the leading educational provider of scrapbooking supplies to schools and families worldwide. Their materials support the educational development of primary school children through planned, cross-curricular craft-based lessons.
Due to company expansion Craft-ED needed new premises to accommodate the increase in staff numbers and moved to a new head office in Witney, Oxfordshire, helped by Newbury Interiors.
Scope of works
- Partitioning to 2 floors
- Wiring - lighting and some other power
- 3 offices fitted out, server room and changing vestibule
- Small alterations to kitchen
- Plumbing alterations
- Assistance with building regulations
- Small changes to original specifications
Critical issues
Craft-ED needed to bring the company together under one roof in a new 2-storey head office. They already had a layout of what they wanted and Newbury Interiors' project manager was able to listen to what was required and offer support and advice with plans for building regulations. He was also able to offer expertise on health and safety issues.
Due to the time-sensitive delivery of other services, including ISDN, electrics and plumbing, Newbury Interiors organised a programme of works around these, which meant working to a tight schedule.
In addition to the main contract, Newbury Interiors accommodated small changes to the original specification, all brought in well ahead of schedule.
Newbury Interiors was also able to offer a flexible finance arrangement that helped from a cash flow perspective.
