Established 25 years ago, an opportunity arose for Eyesite’s Reading practice to move to new premises a few shops down the road that would enable them to carry out all examinations on the ground floor, rather than separated on different levels. They asked Newbury Interiors to design and build the shop-fit for their new practice to offer a more practical layout for their clients.

  • Meet and discuss requirements with client
  • Present and agree designs to fit budget and design requirements
  • 6 consulting rooms
  • Partitioning for display area
  • Accounts office and meeting room to first floor
  • Interior decoration
  • Server room
  • Relocation of existing fixtures and fittings
  • Shop front decoration

Critical Issues

The existing practice had undergone a refit only 2 years ago and Eyesite wanted to relocate the existing fixtures and fittings to the new building. Newbury Interiors was able to carefully dismantle cabinets, counters and handrails and incorporate them into the new shop layout. In addition, all fit-out works needed to be completed within a specific period of time and before the lease on the existing building expired.

What the client said

David Samuel, Managing Director, Eyesite said:

“Using Newbury Interiors’ in-house design service was important to us as it meant that the design worked aesthetically as well as on a practical, shop fit-out level. Open communications from top to bottom with Eyesite and our other sub-contractors ensured that the new practice was open for business on time and on budget.”
