With a turnover in excess of £1 billion in 2008, Mansell Construction Services is one of the UK’s top construction companies. The scope of its building work is far-reaching and includes affordable housing, education, health and defence projects, as well as airport, commercial, cultural and heritage developments. The regional office at Slough enables the company to provide a locally-led service to the Thames Valley area.

Mansell needed to reorganise and refit the Crossbow House office at Slough. They brought in Newbury Interiors to carry out the project, working in partnership on the design scheme to achieve a good look that also produced efficient use of office space.

Scope of Works

• Agree space plan in partnership with collaboration on overall design scheme
• Agree phased programme to carry out works over 10 weeks
• Remove partitioning and reconfigure offices
• Make good ceilings
• New flooring
• Alter air conditioning & provide data cabling to suit
• New office furniture
• Install staff room & furniture
• Create directorate suite & visitor reception area

Critical Issues

Since the building was occupied throughout the refit, ensuring minimal staff disruption was paramount. The programme was therefore phased carefully and good communication with Mansell in-house staff resulted in a successful project that was on time and within budget.
