Background
Premier Leasing and Finance Limited, of Thatcham Berkshire, supply capital equipment and software to businesses through cost effective leasing and financing services. Their philosophy is based on continuously raising the standard of service offered to their customers.
The company was established in 1992 and moved to their Thatcham premises on 13th September 2005. They employ 13 people in an open plan, single level office, with three corner offices for the Directors and a dedicated sales office occupying the remaining space.
The partitioning in the Director's offices did not reach ceiling height, due to the shape of the ceiling. However, this meant that these offices were not sound proofed, which was a big concern for staff privacy and client confidentiality.
Premier Leasing also underwent a project to refresh their branding and image, changing their corporate logo and colours. As part of the brand refresh they decided to refurbish their total office space, including the reception area and make repairs to their atrium roof.
Premier Leasing approached Newbury Interiors to do the work as they wanted to use a local supplier.

Critical issues
The main office is an open plan office, with staff making and receiving many phone calls, therefore Newbury Interiors planned a four phase approach to the refurbishment to minimise disruption and noise in the office.
The work was staged so that each office was refurbished and finished before the next was started and the main office was the last to be completed. Newbury Interiors' own workmen oversaw the job from start to finish and managed any contractors on site.
Floor to ceiling partitioning was used to make the Director's offices more private. Uniquely Newbury Interiors designed special canopies, placed in the ceiling, to stop noise bouncing around the room and improve acoustics in the main office.
What the client said
Rona Shaw, Operations Director at Premier Leasing comments:
"Chris Chamberlain from Newbury Interiors came in to see us to discuss our requirements and draw up the plans. From the new designs we realised that we could fit more people into the office than we thought, which is a major plus point for our future expansion. We also now have a new boardroom and a refurbished reception area with new furniture.
Newbury Interiors were very helpful and accommodating to work with, the job was finished on time and in budget. I would also like to mention their workmen, who were very helpful, moving furniture and cabinets for us and starting early to alleviate any noise in the office."
