| Premises: | Newbury, Berkshire | Scope: | Head Office | Project duration: | 18 weeks |
Background
The English Provender Co. (EPC) is a successful and fast growing food manufacturer based in Newbury who specialise in producing and supplying premium food products. They are probably best known for their “Very Lazy” range of bottled ingredients such as garlic and ginger.
Newbury Interiors had helped EPC previously to create more office space at their Newbury site. As a result we were asked to design and fit out their current premises following a further phase of expansion. The brief included the enlargement of their test kitchen facilities where new products are developed. Additional office space was created to accommodate extra staff.
Scope of works
- Agree a design and space plan with client
- Agree phased process to carry out works
- Create a new meeting/training room
- Reorganise first floor offices and install new furniture
- Install staff refreshment area
- Reconfigure ground floor offices
- Enlarge and fit out test kitchen to catering standards
Critical issues
The organisation of the works programme was key, as one phase of the project had to be completed before the next could begin. Newbury Interiors also resolved an unforeseen service issue in the test kitchen area during the programme.
What the client said
Andy Riches, operations director, EPC, said:
“We are very pleased with the work Newbury Interiors carried out for us. The project was well planned, executed to time and budget and allowed us to carry out our day to day activities without disruption.”
