The British Council of Offices has produced a new guide entitled "The Carbon Reduction Commitment - a Guide for Landlords and Tenants". Available free from their website, the publication details the CRC emissions trading scheme that will apply to large businesses and public sector organisations from April 2010.

The CRC forms part of the UK Government's programme to achieve 80% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions by 2050. It currently covers all organisations with an electricity consumption through half hourly meters of greater than 6,0000MWh/yr, equivalent to an annual electricity bill of around £ 500 K.
