Welcome!
.to New Interiors, the monthly email magazine from Newbury Interiors.
Newbury Interiors has had an extremely busy 2007 to date, and it's hard to believe that we are already half way through 2007. I hope however that you find this month's issue of our newsletter interesting and informative.
This month we take a look at the impact of bench desking on the workplace environment, a new eye-catching mobile file storage system, the health and safety implications for employers of flexible working and how Newbury Interiors helped to refurbish Dedworth School's hall.
New Interiors comes to you without charge or obligation. If you like it, please tell your colleagues so they can receive it too. Details on how to subscribe and unsubscribe are at the end of each issue.
Wishing you every success

Mobile space saving storage from Rackline

In the last three years, around 20.000 workplaces in the UK have adopted some form of bench desking in their offices. Bench desking may encourage better team work, and may provide the best solution for hot desking and flexible working. On the other hand, they may create uninspiring, unexciting workplace layouts, and may not provide the best ergonomic solution.

Rackline showcased their new product, Filestation, at this year's Design Prima exhibition last month. Filestation is specifically designed for the modern office where there is a combination of electronic and paper filing.
By bringing active filing back into the centre of the workplace, it cuts retrieval times by 40% compared to traditional systems. In addition, Filestation frees up to 50% more floor space that can be used to accommodate more desks. |

Dedworth School hall refurbishment
|
 |
With more and more employees requesting the ability to work from home, it is vital that employers are aware of their obligations with regard to health and safety.
The Health and Safety at Work Act 1984 places duties on employers to protect the health, safety and welfare of their employees whether they are working from home or at the employer's workplace. Employers are also required to do a risk assessment of the work activities carried out by home workers under the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999.

Dedworth Green First School wanted to offer a range of services to the local community alongside its more traditional school activities. In order to do this they needed to refurbish the school hall to accommodate activities such as parents' training courses, breakfast clubs and a children's centre.
Newbury Interiors were asked to provide a full project service, from design to final finishing. The clients were very impressed with the quality of work, value for money and service provided throughout the project.
